There is plenty of choice for all tastes within a few miles of Stroud,
here are just a few of the highlights.
Slimbridge (Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust):

- Located by the river Severn with its millenium-funded visitors' centre
the Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre houses the world's largest collection
of rare and endangered wildfowl in 120 acres of grounds. For the avid
twitcher there is also easy access to a range of hides overlooking the
estuary for viewing wild residents and rare migrants.
Westonbirt – The National Arboretum:

- A wonderful world of trees and shrubs. There are 18,000 of them
from all over the world, producing 600 acres of beautifully landscaped
countryside. This makes Westonbirt one of the finest tree collections
in the world.

- A unique 18th century garden sit in the magnificent countryside.
Nature trail, newly planted maze and a not to be missed amazing display
of snowdrops in early spring.
Woodchester Mansion: Nympsfield, Stroud.

- Hidden in a secluded valley near Stroud, Woodchester Mansion is Britain's
only unfinished architectural masterpiece. The magnificent building was
abandoned in 1868 and the bare boned of the building give a unique view
of the craftsmanship of a bygone age.
