Slimbridge (Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust): Slimbridge, GL2 7BT.

www.wwt.org.uk - Located by the river Severn with its millenium-funded visitors' centre the Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre houses the world's largest collection of rare and endangered wildfowl in 120 acres of grounds. For the avid twitcher there is also easy access to a range of hides overlooking the estuary for viewing wild residents and rare migrants.

Westonbirt – The National Arboretum: 3 miles south of Tetbury on the A433.

Painswick Rococo Garden: near Painswick on the B4073.

Woodchester Mansion: Nympsfield, Stroud.

www.the-mansion.co.uk - Hidden in a secluded valley near Stroud, Woodchester Mansion is Britain's only unfinished architectural masterpiece. The magnificent building was abandoned in 1868 and the bare boned of the building give a unique view of the craftsmanship of a bygone age.
